Outdoor, dining furniture specialist invests $25 million in new Georgia facility

MIDWAY, Ga. – A manufacturer of outdoor and dining furniture, Westin Group, will invest $25 million in a new distribution plant in Liberty County, Ga. As many as 180 new jobs are expected once the building is fully operational.
“We are so pleased to have Westin Group coming to Tradeport East Business Center,” said Liberty County Development Authority Board Chairman Allen Brown. “Westin is the fourth company this year to announce plans to locate in the county’s premiere industrial park.”
Construction on the 250,000-square-foot building will begin later this year, according to local WJCL News. Around 80 workers will be employed initially. A second phase will bring the space to 500,000 square feet.
“In the past few years, we have seen rapid success and are currently outgrowing our West Coast facilities,” Westin CEO Neil Jiang told the Courier Journal. “About 85% of our customers are based on the East Coast, and our strategy is to have quicker delivery time to them as well as saving on shipping costs.”
Jiang said most of Westin’s sales are through e-commerce, but its furniture can also be found at retail stores such as Macy’s, Ashley Furniture and Walmart.
Westin is headquartered in Ontario, Canada, with a main warehouse in Southern California.
